Fan Festival 2016 is back with great in-game activities once again! This is the perfect opportunity for FFXIV fans to gather together and play on the same team, in the same room, for great fun in a variety of unique in-game activities! You’ve tried your hand at the first and second season of The Feast, but are you ready for the ultimate challenge? Sharpen your fangs and claws because we’re holding The Feast matches right at Fan Festival. Meet up with your fellow allies and bring out your inner wolf on the show floor!

- Live Activities

Events such as Fan Festival provide the opportunity to offer various types of fun that aren’t limited to in-game challenges. This year’s Fan Festival will feature a number of ways to live the adventure, which includes Live Quest and several mini-games. Everything has been created with the spirit of Eorzea in mind!
Live Quest
Form a group with fellow adventurers to undertake a real-life quest that involves solving fun puzzles and other interactive elements all while enjoying everything the Fan Festival has to offer!

Experience what it means to be an adventurer by testing your hand at challenges brought to life based on various activities found in Eorzea.

Fan Festival 2016 kicks off with a bang featuring a keynote delivered by producer and director Naoki Yoshida, and will play host to various panels that feature a number of development team guests.
That’s not all! After you’re done getting your fill of behind-the-scenes information straight from the development team, you can enjoy live music as well as stage content that involves fan participation!

- Art Contest

We cordially invite artists around the realm, whether they create drawings, paintings, sculptures, or other crafts, to showcase their talents at Fan Festival 2016 in Las Vegas! Design your best representation of FINAL FANTASY XIV, the realm of Eorzea, its peoples or landscapes, or anything found within that strikes a creative chord and prepare to reveal it to your fellow fans! If your work is chosen, you just might earn yourself some amazing prizes!
The Art Contest is separated into three categories:
Categories:
- 1. "The Epic Showdown!": art depicting a battle scene from FINAL FANTASY XIV
- 2. "Life in Eorzea": art depicting non-combat activities, an adventurous scene or role-play from FINAL FANTASY XIV
- 3. "Crafted Physical Entries": physical hand-crafted (non-drawn) art depicting something related to FINAL FANTASY XIV
Once we receive all qualifying entries, we’ll choose up to 45 finalists to display at our Art Gallery at Fan Festival 2016 in Las Vegas and also show on the live stream! Fan Festival 2016 in Las Vegas attendees will get the chance to choose the three grand prize winners from among the eligible finalists by popular vote.
Please note, that any entrants must be legal residents of the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec), and over the age of 13. Full Official Contest Rules and Guidelines are available here, so start on your masterpiece now!

Friday, July 29, 2016 at 12:01 a.m. (Pacific Time) through Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time)
Selection
The FINAL FANTASY XIV Development and Operations Teams will select up to 45 finalists based on creativity and overall execution according to the criteria listed above. Las Vegas Fan Festival attendees will select the ultimate winners from among the eligible finalists based on their own voting criteria at the event.
Winners will be announced on or around Friday, October 28, 2016.
Prizes
Three (3) Grand Prize winners, one (1) from each of the three (3) categories listed above, will each be awarded a Fan Festival prize pack consisting of the new FINAL FANTASY® XIV book of lore signed by director and producer Naoki Yoshida, a FINAL FANTASY® XIV Figure Pack consisting of miniature figures of Y’shtola, Alphinaud, Tataru and Ifrit, and a brand-new in-game item (to be revealed in the future).
All finalists chosen to have their work displayed at the show will receive a brand-new in-game item (to be revealed in the future).
How to Enter
Create an entry related to a specific category above, either drawn, created digitally, crafted or sculpted.
Once you’ve finished your piece, submit your entry information in an email to:
When submitting digital art entries, you must upload your image to an external website and provide us a link to view and download your art (such as Flickr, Imgur, etc.). Please note that some image hosting websites, such as Flickr, will delete images when an account is inactive for a certain amount of time, so make sure to verify this when choosing a site to host your entry image.

The FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2014 in Las Vegas boasted some of the most amazing costumes from the realm of Eorzea that we’ve ever seen, and we’re excited to announce that the contest is making a return for Fan Festival 2016 in Las Vegas! We’re looking forward to seeing the high-caliber of creativity and talent adventurers never stop impressing us with. There are great prizes and fun opportunities to show off your costumes, so come dressed to the nines!
Attendees entering the Costume Contest need to check in on-site and be evaluated by our esteemed judging panel. Of all the entries, Square Enix shall select up to 20 qualifying finalists to present themselves on stage for a chance to win great prizes!

Selection
The Costume Contest judges will select winners based on overall creativity and quality.
Square Enix will announce the winners on or around October 14, 2016.

After sending this email, entrants must check-in in person at the Fan Festival costume check-in area at the Fan Festival on Thursday, October 13, 2016 or before 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016 to be evaluated. Entrants must bring proof of costume creation (in the form of photos taken throughout the process) to the evaluation.
Additional Rules & Guidelines
- • Entrants must attend Fan Festival on October 14, 2016 to participate.

• Entrants must have created most of the costume themselves. Entrants may use minor items that they did not create themselves, such as accessories or props.

• Entrants must submit the required entry information within the contest entry period, check in for the evaluation by noon on October 14, 2016, and attend the scheduled evaluation appointment. Entrants must bring proof of costume creation (in the form of photos taken throughout the process).

• Square Enix will accept no more than fifty entrants for the contest. Square Enix will accept entrants on a first come, first served basis. After Square Enix accepts fifty entries, Square Enix will place the next ten entrants on a waiting list in the order in which the entrant applied.
Once the contest entry period closes, Square Enix will notify the fifty entrants that they have been selected to participate in the contest. Additionally, Square Enix will notify the ten additional entrants that they have been placed on the waiting list.

Fan Festival attendees may wear non-FINAL FANTASY XIV costumes during the event, but these costumes cannot be entered in the contest

• Costumes cannot be dangerous to the wearer or others. Square Enix may refuse to permit anyone possessing actually or potentially dangerous objects to enter Fan Festival at Square Enix’s sole discretion. Such dangerous objects include, but are not limited to, the following:
Sharpened, pointed, or dangerous objects
Large heavy blunt objects
Corrosive, hazardous, flammable, or explosive materials, including liquids and gasses
Loud objects such as emergency horns or alarms
Any other objects that are, or that appear to be, dangerous to the wearer, to any other Fan Festival attendee, to Fan Festival staff, or to any other person or object.
- • Fan Festival attendees must be able to maneuver on their own, unassisted.
- • Entrants may not enter a costume that was used at one or more previous Fan Festival events.
