How to get to Frankfurt

Frankfurt is one of the major European cities and has a well-connected airport. Flying direct from the UK, France and many other European cities is easy and there are numerous airlines that operate flights.

With a major train station in the city just 1km away from the Festhalle and many roads leading in to the city, it's very easy to travel to Fan Festival Frankfurt 2017.

Train

Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (central train station) is only a few minutes away from the Festhalle. The underground station under the central station offers the most direct and fastest connection to the Festhalle.

Car

The Festhalle Frankfurt is situated at the heart of both Germany and Europe. Its central geographic location offers ideal international road, rail and air connections. Wherever you are coming from, you will be able to reach Festhalle Frankfurt quickly and conveniently.

U-Bahn underground train

Take the U4 line heading towards Bockenheimer Warte. Go one station and get off at "Festhalle/Messe".

Tram

Once in Frankfurt, take the main exit of the central train station to reach the tram lines 16 and 17. "Festhalle/Messe" is the third station. Use the "City" entrance to enter the exhibition grounds.

*Please note that during the weekend of the show, Saturday 18 February and Sunday 19 February 2017, your Fan Festival ticket will also act as a 'KombiTicket'. By Foot

It is about a ten minute walk from the train station to Messe Frankfurt. From Düsseldorfer Straße, cross the Platz der Republik and the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage. Use the "City" entrance to enter the exhibition grounds.

How to get to the Festhalle Messe Frankfurt

The direct route to the Festhalle Messe Frankfurt runs from the motorway junction "Westkreuz Frankfurt"
to the A 648 direction “Stadtmitte (city center)”.

ACCOMMODATION

We have teamed up with the travel agency, Jet Tours, to provide our guests with preferential rates at local accommodation. Fan Festival attendees can book discounted rates at the hostel, A&O Frankfurt Galluswarte - only 1km walking distance from the Festhalle.
In the A&O Frankfurt Galluswarte 500 persons can overnight in 55 double rooms and the remaining 390 beds in multi-bed rooms (occupancy 4, 6 and 8).

You get 2** superior hotel comfort when booking a double room. The numerous shared rooms in the hostel area offer comfortable beds plus separate shower and toilet in the room. Wi-Fi is free of charge in every room and all public areas.

Room assignment unless otherwise specified will be done by gender (M/F).

Important information for multi-bed rooms: You can book a multi-bed room for up to 8 persons. Each visitor must fill out his/her own form and name all other group members in the relevant field.

What is FINAL FANTASY XIV – FAN-FESTIVAL?

Fan Festival 2017 is the second major event of its kind for FINAL FANTASY XIV. This global event is taking place across three different regions, in three major cities: Las Vegas, Tokyo and Frankfurt! It’s a massive event built just for fans and features exciting announcements, development panels, in-game activities, merchandise, as well as amazing opportunities to play together in both in-game and live activities. Also it’s a great place to meet up with your fellow players and win some great prizes!
When and where will this take place?

The Fan Festival 2017 in Frankfurt will be held on Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, February 19 at the Festhalle Frankfurt, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1, 60327 Frankfurt am Main Deutschland, Germany. You can learn more about the venue by visiting the event location section on the Travel & FAQ page.
How long is the event?

Fan Festival 2017 in Frankfurt is a two day event spanning Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, February 19, 2017 and each day of the show will feature unique content. Registration and entry will start from 8:00 am on Saturday, 18 February.

What times will the show be on each day?

Main event starts at 10:30 Saturday, February 18 and finishes at 20:00. On Sunday February 19, opening times are 09:00 to 20:00. Registration will start at 08:00 on both days.

What language will the event be held in?

Although the event is happening in Germany, the European Fan Festival will be an international event and we will be hosting everything in English language.
How much are tickets to the event?

Tickets will cost €148.99, inclusive of VAT and all fees.
What do I get for the price of admission?

Each attendee will receive a ticket granting them access to the event on Saturday and Sunday. Each attendee will also receive in-game items and other FINAL FANTASY XIV-related goodies in a "goody bag" (with full details to be announced in the future).
Can I travel for free on the tram in Frankfurt?

Yes! During the weekend of the show, your Fan Festival ticket also includes a KombiTicket which will allow holders to use the tram free of charge in order to get to and from the Festhalle Frankfurt. Click here for more information.
Are there special VIP tickets available?

No, unfortunately there will not be VIP tickets at Fan Festival 2017.
What is the in-game item for the Fan Festival 2017 in Frankfurt?

The are two in-game items for the Fan Festival 2017 in Frankfurt.

The in-game bonus code will grant players a Yuna minion, and they will have the option to select either a set of gear that can be worn by male characters or a set of gear that can be worn by female characters. When redeeming the bonus item code, users will need to select whether they wish to receive the male outfit, Abes Attire, or the High Summoner Attire female outfit and will not receive both. All users who redeem the bonus code will receive the Yuna minion. Note that the minion offered at each Fan Festival event will be different.
What are the in-game items for the Fan Festivals in North America and Japan?

Attendees of Fan Festival 2016 in Las Vegas will receive a Rikku minion and will be able to select either one set of gear that can be worn by male characters or one set of gear that can be worn by female characters.

Attendees of Fan Festival 2016 in Japan will receive a Lulu minion and will be able to select either one set of gear that can be worn by male characters or one set of gear that can be worn by female characters.
How can I obtain the other Fan Festival-exclusive minions or the other gender-specific outfit?

You can either attend another region's Fan Festival 2016 event or you can purchase the event's premium livestream to receive the additional in-game items.
When will the in-game items be distributed?

After the bonus code has been redeemed, the event-exclusive minion will be delivered to players upon the conclusion of that Fan Festival. However, the selected attire will not be delivered until the conclusion of the European Fan Festival in February 2017.
Do I have to attend the event to receive my goody bag and in-game items?

Yes, you must attend Fan Festival 2017 in order to receive your goody bag and in-game items. We will not mail out your goody bag and in-game item bonus code if you do not attend.
Are there any hotel discounts that can be applied to Fan Festival attendees?

Yes! We are offering discounts for rooms at the A&O Hostel, 1km away from where the event is being held. Please make your reservations for our special Fan Festival 2017 room block by contacting Jet Tours directly.

Is food provided at the event?

Yes, food and beverages can be purchased at the event.
Is there an age limit for attendees?

You must be over 12 years of age in order to attend the Fan Festival at Frankfurt.

- Visitors that are 16 years of age or older will need to present a valid photo ID in order to gain entry to the event.

- Visitors younger than 16 years of age must bring a legal guardian.

Can I wear a costume to the event?

Yes, in fact we encourage it and hope you enter the costume contest as well! Full contest details, including restrictions on prohibited items, will be announced in a future update soon!
Costume Storage and Changing

Yes, there will be changing and storage on site for our guests. Please ask at the Costume Contest registration area for more information.
What is the refund policy?

No refunds, all sales are final. Please ensure all of your plans are in order before you purchase tickets.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, Square Enix Ltd. shall issue refunds to original ticket purchasers upon request if Square Enix Ltd. cancels the entire event. All such refunds will be strictly limited to the amount the original ticket purchaser paid for the ticket on the Eventbrite website. Please contact Square Enix Ltd. at the applicable link below to request a refund if Square Enix Ltd. cancels the entire event. Square Enix Ltd. will respond to refund enquiries within five business days.

Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?

No, tickets are non-transferable. IDs will be checked at registration and entry is only to persons matching the name on the ticket with identification.
Will the Fan Festival 2017 in Frankfurt be streamed?

Yes, it will! Details on the live stream will be announced at a later date.
Can I purchase the special in-game bonus items even if I can't attend the event?

While the in-game bonus items won't be sold separately, we are planning to make the in-game bonus items available to those that purchase the live stream. More details will be announced at a later date.

What will I be able to buy at FINAL FANTASY XIV – FAN FESTIVAL?

There will be all sorts of food, drinks and FINAL FANTASY merchandise to tempt you throughout the event.
Do I need to bring photo ID?

Yes, acceptable forms of ID to prove your age include:
a photo driving licence
a passport
a national identity card
Can I bring a camera/video camera?

Absolutely, please do! We want you to have photos to remember your day! Please note that there may be some areas where the unauthorised use of photographic or recording equipment is prohibited, but we will make it clear throughout the venue where you can/cannot take photos.
Is there WiFi access?

No, unfortunately we will not be offering free Wi-fi to our guests at the event.
Can I bring a computer?

There is no need to bring a computer as there will be a number of high-spec gaming computers available for your use.
Will there be disabled access to the venue?

Yes, the venue is set over several floors but the main event is all on the ground floor. Special seating arrangements can be made for the stage events. Please contact the Support Centre to notify and make special arrangements.
Will there be security at the venue and are there any special rules?

Yes, there will be a security team on-hand throughout the event to ensure everyone is safe and has a great time. Bags will be checked upon registration for the event, please ensure you don't bring any fixed blades, swords, lances and other dangerous items to the event. In the interests of animal welfare and the protection of all participants and visitors of the Fan Festival it is strictly forbidden to bring live animals to the event. Throughout the Festhalle there is a strict smoking ban. For safety reasons, we ask you to smoke only in the designated outdoor areas.
Can I leave the event and come back later?

You’ll be given a wristband when you enter, so as long as you keep that with you you’ll be free to leave/return as you please.
Will the event be recorded?

Yes, the event is being recorded and ticket holders consent to being filmed and/or photographed (including sound recording) and permit Square Enix to use such film and/or photographs as it sees fit.
Will there be a cloakroom?

Yes, you’ll be able to store any coats or bags in a designated area while you enjoy yourself.
Will there be quiet areas to relax in?

We know it’ll be an action-packed day, so yes – there will be opportunities and places to relax while you’re at the show.
Will there be first-aiders on hand?
